In Memory of Jaime Hawkins George

On Thursday, May 26, 2022, our lives were changed forever by the sudden and tragic death of our beloved Jaime.  At just 34 years old, Jaime thought the only way to end her suffering was to take her life, leaving loved ones grief stricken and confused.

Jaime was an incredible person.  She was a bright light in this world.  Her smile was infectious. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, friend, nurse, but her most important role was mother to her dear children, Olivia and Joseph. Being a mother meant the world to her.

She was a compassionate person, who often put others needs before her own.  She spent many years as an ICU nurse, offering care to her patients and for some, comforting them during their last moments, especially during the COVID pandemic. Jaime eventually left her ICU nursing job and became an elementary school nurse, taking care of the young children she loved so much.

Her sudden death left us shocked, confused and asking the one question we'll truly never know the answer to. Why?  And although we may never know the answer, we know what it is like to lose someone so dearly to suicide.  During our healing process, we knew we needed to help others who were experiencing what we did and to keep her memory alive.  We hope this Foundation will provide comfort in a time that seems unimaginably difficult.
